The Charlie Sheen machine continues to grind in its own dysfunctional way, this time with "ex-goddess" Bree Olson landing a role in a new Canadian TV series.
In a reality show concept that actually defies reality, it was announced Friday that Olson will star "in a wild new reality series about an all-girl porn star rock band," a news release said." The series is called Tight and has been described as a cross between Jersey Shore and Spinal Tap."
Olson plays the band's manager, and although she isn't a musician, she "helped pick the musicians, the music, the costumes, everything,” Olson said in the news release. “I assembled the band in Las Vegas and then put them on tour enroute to Los Angeles where an audition with a major record label awaited them. It was so exciting to see the band get better with every gig.”
The series is produced by Edmonton-based Mind Engine Productions. Creator and executive producer Shaun Donnelly says the the series has sold to more than 20 networks world-wide but not in Canada.
Music for the show was written by a Vancouver band, The Crawl.
The series is rated "R", and, according to Donnelly, it had some very Sheen-like moments during its creation.
"There was a great deal of drinking during the tour and at least a half dozen fist fights," the news release said. "Production was almost halted twice, once following a violent brawl in Phoenix and again after a vandalism spree in L.A."
But violence, substance abuse, a lack of musical experience and being Charlie Sheen's ex aren't the only issues Olson's new venture faces.
“The biggest challenge a porn star band faces is being taken seriously," Olson said.
