The man, Chris Staniforth, died from pulmonary embolism which basically means that he played games and was stationary for so long that he developed a blood clot that killed him. Now, Staniforth's parents are trying to "raise
awareness about the health risks of playingonline computer games."
Sadly, it seems that more and more people are becoming obsessed with their video games and their computers. There's a very likely chance that someone else will die from playing their Xbox or PS3 or whatever for too long. Frankly, it's very sad but even awareness is unlikely to help someone who would become so engrossed in video games that they don't move for hours on end. Time seems to just pass by in an instant to dedicated gamers.
There is a silver lining in this story. Parents can monitor and control the amount of time their children spend playing games. However, a grown adult will have to monitor himself. Unfortunately for some adults, it seems they still need their parents to supervise them.
